Talk on Orthodoxy from Thursday, March 3, 2011.

Please visit our parish's website for an audio only version of the talk given at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Millville, New Jersey on Thursday, March 3, 2011. I tried to get these talks on a weekly basis, and these have been fairly well received by the parish and my spiritual children who do not live in the area. I hope you find this talk edifying and spiritually profitable. This week we spoke about fasting and the Great Fast. The link for this talk is:  http://stnicholasroc.org/files/march3_2011.MP3

March 24, 2011 Talk on Orthodoxy

My dear friends,
I am planning on speaking tonight about the Great Fast. The meaning of fasting is varied among different cultures and peoples. The Orthodox Church has a very distinct view of fasting. Our discussion will go over various cultures, religions and nations, and how fasting differs around the world. We must always remember that the Orthodox Church, as the guardian and the holder of truth, as the only true answer to the question of fasting.

Voice recognition

Well, the voice recognition software that I was so hopeful of using for this does not recognize the recording I made.  Now I have to get a microphone to reduce external noise.  God-Willing this will all come together soon.
